Elder Urbiña came to us in July without having been to the temple. We were so excited. We fueled up "the Beast", closed up the office and took a day trip (3 1/2 hrs each way) to the Guatalajara Temple......very similar to our Fresno temple. The missionaries were delighted because they had not had opportunity to attend the temple while serving their mission in Leon because Guadalajara Temple is not in our boundaries. But we received permission to travel and off we went. The trip was a wonderful experience. President and I were asked to be the witness couple and I was able to understand in Spanish without headphones...just because of my service in the Fresno Temple. President and Sister Gabbitas met us at the temple. They were from Bakersfield and Bob had attended meetings with President Gabbitas years before ....it is such a small world. They were enjoying their service as Temple President and Matron. We were sad to say goodbye but knew we had a lot waiting for us back in Leon so headed back.
