"Only in Mexico"

President Cox and I were invited to attend a wedding reception for Hma Vargas, one of our ex-summer missionaries. She and her "novio" (groom, a new word for me)were married civily and then were sealed the next day in the Guadalajara temple. Our Bishops, Stake Presidents, Sealers do not have authority from the Country of Mexico to legally marry so our members have to have a judge marry them prior to their sealing. But anyways, President and I thought we would be smart. The reception was supposed to begin at 3 pm...so we arrived at 3:30pm because everything starts late here. But the joke was on us. We waited for 1 1/2 hrs and the "boda" (wedding reception) never happened....tables were set ....but no flowers, no tablecloths, no presents no bride and groom....I am attaching a picture!

We enjoyed a birthday lunch with Tere Morales and family. She is our Stake President's wife and they have such a cute family. She was born after Bob and I were married...that's crazy, I just don't think of being that much older than they are....Wow! Do I look old enough to be her mother?
